Guatama Buddha Q@A
Monday May 20th, 2024 through Zoom
$30
Gautama Buddha, also known simply as the Buddha, was a spiritual leader and teacher who lived in ancient India around the 6th and 5th centuries BCE. Born into a noble family as Siddhartha Gautama, he renounced his privileged life to seek enlightenment and understand the nature of suffering. After years of meditation and ascetic practices, he attained enlightenment while meditating under a Bodhi tree in what is now Bodh Gaya, India. The Buddha's teachings, known as Buddhism, emphasize the Four Noble Truths—suffering, its origin, cessation, and the path to liberation—and the Eightfold Path, a guide to ethical and mindful living. His teachings, grounded in compassion, wisdom, and mindfulness, have had a profound impact on countless individuals and continue to resonate with people around the world, inspiring them to seek inner peace and spiritual awakening
A Q@A will follow with questions being submitted to Tom Newman at tnewman@verizon.net before the date of the talk.
