We live in a world of I can'ts. I can't get a better job. I can't catch a break. I can't make more money. I can't find a better house. I can't find love. The list of I can'ts runs long. We have been taught when we become frustrated with ourselves over a certain situation, even using the statement, "I just can't right now." Is a very common practice for us as humans but have you ever considered changing that statement to I can or will?
When we change the energy around our statements, we effectively can make changes in our actions and how things, "happening to us," as stated in previous writings and by spirit, to "happening for us," we take better control of the situation and don't go into an energy of weakness, but of strength. When faced with a difficult situation, there is always a way through or around it. It can never truly stop us unless we let it do so. Recently two things have happened to us at home. In a small bathroom, we have a toilet that started leaking and someone hit my car's front fender, causing some damage. a I didn't stop to think on the toilet. I fixed it. Changed the internals and the gaskets, and now it works better than before. I then moved on to the car issue. A fender on my car, along with work done, will cost upwards of $1000. Instead, I went online. Looked up some how-to instructions and found I could order a fender for my car, make and year, and exact color for $60. I will replace it myself. I didn't stop to think I can't. I looked at it and said, I will.
But there are always two kinds of people in the world. The I cans' and the I can'ts. If you look at these two types of people they act completely differently in their lives. If you stopped saying I can't, you would be in more control of your life. When you say I can't. You are letting your control or power over your world go. Which type of person do you think is happier?
If you choose to be in a prison, you have made yourself a prisoner. If you choose to be the one that takes flight, you have your freedom. I can't is a prison. I can, gives you the wings to reach new heights. I know this as a fact. The sense of accomplishment and overcoming bad or troubling situations is a far better place and energy to have than not.
If you don't know where to begin to start saying more I cans than I can'ts, start small. Try a new hobby. Try a new recipe. Do something that is a little out of your comfort zone whatever it takes but in the end, it should have some kind of reward. Then do more and more new things and attempt bigger and bigger issues. Eventually, you will be able to apply the energy of I can or will to everything you do and at the end of the day, that sense of freedom will give you such strength and peace that no matter what comes at you, you will be able to get through it.
Happy Spring,
Steve
