Our Spiritual Code
In order to provide a spiritual and uplifting environment, respectful of the facilities used and especially the people attending, please observed the following:
1. Be respectful of each other, if there is a problem, please discuss it first with the individual you are having difficulty with. Be an adult, not a child, discussion and listening as well expressing in a positive fashion may gain a better resolve than a conflicting one.
2. Be respectful of the facility and the attendant or owner of the facility. Many of these places we are meeting are homes and the homeowner or attendant of the home are doing their best to provide a location for meetings, classes, events and etc and they deserve the respect and thanks for their offering. No Walk-ins are permitted, previous scheduling or notification at least 3 hours before event but seating is limited so plan according to scheduled event parameters. If you wish to provide a location please contact stevenewoodsrise@earthlink.net or phone 301-760-9186 for discussion and arrangements.
3. Clean up after yourself, if you make a mess, use an item, please help in setting back the facility as the attendant wishes.
4. No Cell phones or Cell phones OFF during Classes, Circles, Appointments and Events. If you need to call, text or chat, do so outside of the facility or in a location outside of the event.
5. Recording is only permitted on devices with a small red light like a digital recorder. Cell phones can not be used for recording in events where the lights are out, but can be used for appointments, classes and events if in airplane mode. If you need help in finding someone to record your session or another means, please ask.
6. Questions. No question should ever go unasked if you don't know the answer or should you feel silly for asking it. If it is important to you, then ask it. In turn, be respectful of others questions and do not discuss their questions or how they delivered them unless they ask or are open to your opinion. We have individuals who have sat for years and those that are new, but no event unless specifically stated is closed to anyone seeking. Special circumstances will be discussed with the instructor, teacher or attendant.
7. Privacy. Please do not record other peoples sessions unless given permission to do so. if it is private to them, be respectful and do not invade their privacy.
8. Seating. Some seats are specifically reserved for certain individuals. If you do not know, ask. If you are one of the reserved seats and find someone in your seat, please be respectful and let them know the circumstance around the seating. I.E. Reserved, attendant of facility and first two chairs of circles are reserved specifically.
9. Follow the Golden Rule - "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!" Treat others as you would like to be treated and try to be mindful of others.
10. Be better than no one other than yourself as you were yesterday. We are all heading in the same direction, we are all equals. Some may have more abilities than others but that still doesn't make them better than anyone else. If we treat each other equally, we will all arrive at the same place, all the stronger and better.
11. Be positive even in the face of negativity, it will get you more in return than you know.
12. Be advised that failure to abide by the Spiritual Code and constant behavior that is contrary to what we practice or believe will effect the extent of your membership and or your participation.
