In today’s world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the constant stream of negativity, political strife, social division, economic instability, and global crises. The United States, like many nations, is experiencing heightened polarization, fear, and uncertainty. Yet, from a metaphysical and spiritual perspective, maintaining a positive mindset is not just beneficial, it’s essential.

Why Staying Positive Matters More Than Ever

From a spiritual standpoint, energy is contagious. What we focus on expands, and our collective consciousness shapes reality. When we allow negativity to dominate our thoughts, we contribute to the very chaos we wish to escape. Conversely, when we cultivate positivity, we become beacons of light in the darkness, influencing the world in subtle but powerful ways.

Here’s why staying positive is crucial:

1. The Law of Attraction – Like attracts like. If we dwell on fear and anger, we attract more of the same. By choosing hope and love, we invite better experiences.

How to Cultivate Positivity Amidst Chaos

Staying positive doesn’t mean ignoring reality—it means consciously choosing where to place your energy. Here are practical spiritual strategies:

1. Limit Negative Inputs

- Reduce exposure to sensationalized news and toxic social media.

- Curate your environment—follow uplifting voices, read inspiring books, and engage in constructive conversations.

2. Practice Gratitude Daily

Gratitude shifts your focus from lack to abundance. Keep a journal and list three things you’re grateful for each day.

Acknowledge small blessings—sunlight, a kind word, a moment of peace.

3. Meditate and Ground Yourself

Meditation helps detach from external chaos and reconnect with inner stillness.

Grounding techniques (walking barefoot on grass, deep breathing) stabilize your energy.

4. Use Affirmations and High-Vibe Language

Replace “This world is falling apart” with “I choose to see the good and be part of the solution.”

Affirm: “I am a conduit of peace and light. My energy contributes to healing.”

5. Surround Yourself with Light

Spend time in nature, which naturally raises your vibration.

Engage in activities that bring joy—music, art, dance, or spiritual practices.

6. Serve Others with Love

Acts of kindness—no matter how small—shift your energy outward in a positive way.

Volunteer, donate, or simply offer a smile. Service dissolves despair.

7. Trust the Bigger Picture

From a metaphysical perspective, challenges are soul lessons. Trust that growth is happening, even if unseen.

Affirm: “The Universe is unfolding as it should. I am exactly where I need to be.”

It is essential now more than ever to be the light

The current climate in U.S. politics has drawn comparisons to the rise of Nazi Germany, a period marked by division, fear, and the erosion of democratic values. Understanding the Parallels: Fear, Division, and Erosion of Truth

The rise of Nazi Germany was fueled by economic instability, scapegoating of marginalized groups, and the manipulation of truth through propaganda. Similarly, today’s political climate is characterized by deep polarization, the spread of misinformation, and the targeting of vulnerable communities. From a spiritual perspective, these patterns reflect a collective shadow—a manifestation of unresolved fear, pain, and separation. As we come into a new year filled with many questions and worries, I am reminded of the saying, "Turn the Other Cheek." In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus shared a profound teaching:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also” (Matthew 5:38-39).

On the surface, this may seem like a call to passive submission, but a deeper spiritual exploration reveals that Jesus was pointing toward a revolutionary approach to human conflict—one rooted in transcending the ego and embodying divine strength. In our polarized times, with the rise of division, fear, and hostility, this teaching offers a radical pathway to healing and transformation, both within ourselves and the collective.

A Metaphysical Understanding of “Turning the Other Cheek”

To “turn the other cheek” is not an act of weakness but a profound spiritual stance. It challenges the reactive patterns of the lower self—pride, vengeance, and fear—and invites us to align with a higher vibration of love, courage, and divine justice.

In spiritual terms, the slap represents any attack on the ego: an insult, a betrayal, or an act of aggression that seeks to provoke a response rooted in the lower self. The first slap often lands on the ego—the part of us that craves validation and fears rejection. When insulted or attacked, pause and breathe deeply. Remind yourself that your true self cannot be diminished by external actions.

Choose love as your guiding force. This does not mean excusing harmful behavior but holding a space for healing and transformation—for yourself and others.

3.Respond, Don’t React

Reaction is instinctual and often rooted in fear. Response is conscious and rooted in wisdom. Before acting, ask yourself, “What would love do here?”

4.Assert Boundaries with Grace

Turning the other cheek does not mean allowing harm to continue unchecked. It means responding from a place of strength and clarity. Set boundaries when needed, but do so without malice or revenge.

5.Pray for Transformation

Prayer is a powerful tool for shifting energy. Pray not only for your own strength but for the healing and awakening of those who act from fear or ignorance.

6.Trust Divine Justice

When wronged, trust that the universe operates on principles of balance and harmony. Release the need for personal vengeance and allow the divine to handle the scales.

A Call to Courage and Compassion

To turn the other cheek is to embody the paradox of spiritual power: humility that is unshakable, compassion that holds others accountable, and love that refuses to bow to fear. It is  an act of sacred rebellion against the forces that seek to divide us, reminding us that true strength lies not in domination, but in the courage to rise above.

As we approach Thanksgiving, a holiday rooted in gratitude and reflection, we’re invited to consider the blessings of the past year. While many Americans see Thanksgiving as a commemoration of the 1621 harvest feast shared by the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people, it carries varied meanings for different communities.

Beyond that historical narrative, Thanksgiving provides an opportunity to pause and truly ask: What are we grateful for? In a year full of challenges, this question is more meaningful than ever. Gratitude helps ground us, reminding us of the things and people who support us, even through hardship. Yes, we’ve all felt the weight of a difficult year, but by focusing on what brings us joy or comfort—however small—we can shift our perspective.

This focus on gratitude is an act of resilience and renewal. As we look ahead, there is a shared hope for positive change. Let’s appreciate the chance to witness history, however challenging it may be, and recognize that we can emerge stronger. This year has shown the best and worst in us, but it’s also revealed incredible kindness, resilience, and generosity. Through every dark moment, there are people who choose to shine, and it’s often in those people and their support that we find our strength. Gratitude isn’t just for the good; it’s a choice to honor growth and change—even in hard times.

My own list of gratitude is long. I’m grateful for my home, my family, and the simple comforts of food and warmth. I’m grateful for the chance to serve and uplift, for every kind gesture that reminds me of the goodness in people. I’m grateful for health, for my ability to meet life’s challenges, and for the freedom to think, to discern right from wrong, and to seek the good. And I’m profoundly thankful for everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, and reminded me of the beauty in resilience.

In today's world there are a lot of choices people are having to make due to the current climate around politics and inflation. People everywhere are feeling the pinch and more and more people are having to make a choice on whether their own well being is being threatened by behaviors others put upon them.

Inflation is where the purchasing power of money diminishes over time and is a reality that affects every aspect of our material lives. Prices rise, savings lose value, and financial stability becomes a moving target. For many, the anxiety and uncertainty that accompany inflation can be overwhelming. However, in the face of such challenges, spirituality can offer a powerful framework for understanding and coping with these economic pressures. 

The Spiritual Perspective on Material Wealth

In many spiritual traditions, material wealth is seen as transient. Eastern philosophies like Buddhism teach the impermanence of all things, including money and possessions. Similarly, Christian teachings often emphasize the dangers of becoming too attached to material wealth, reminding followers that "you cannot serve both God and money" (Matthew 6:24). This perspective can be particularly grounding during times of inflation, when the value of money is constantly shifting. By recognizing the transient nature of wealth, individuals can cultivate a sense of detachment from the anxiety that often accompanies financial instability. This doesn't mean ignoring practical financial matters, but rather approaching them with a sense of balance and perspective. 

Mindfulness and Financial Awareness

Mindfulness, a practice rooted in spiritual traditions but widely embraced in secular contexts, can be a powerful tool in managing the stress associated with inflation. By cultivating present-moment awareness, individuals can become more attuned to their financial habits and decisions. This heightened awareness can lead to more conscious spending, better financial planning, and a reduced tendency to make impulsive purchases driven by fear or anxiety. In addition, mindfulness can help individuals recognize and appreciate what they already have, fostering a sense of gratitude that can counterbalance the fear of loss or scarcity that often accompanies inflationary periods. By focusing on the present and what is within one's control, mindfulness can reduce the emotional toll of economic uncertainty. 

 The Role of Community and Compassion

Spirituality often emphasizes the importance of community and compassion. In times of economic hardship, these values become even more critical. Inflation can strain not only individual finances but also relationships and communities. By fostering a spirit of generosity and mutual support, individuals can help each other navigate these challenges. For example, some spiritual communities encourage practices like tithing or charity, even in times of personal financial strain. This act of giving can create a sense of abundance and interconnectedness, countering the fear and isolation that inflation can bring. Moreover, participating in community support networks—whether through religious organizations, local groups, or informal networks—can provide practical help and emotional support.

Faith and Trust in Uncertain Times

At the heart of spirituality is often a sense of faith—whether in a higher power, the universe, or the inherent goodness of life. In the context of inflation, faith can serve as a source of inner strength and resilience. Trusting that one will be provided for, even in times of scarcity, can alleviate some of the anxiety that comes with financial uncertainty. Faith does not imply passivity. Finally, spirituality invites a broader understanding of prosperity. While inflation might reduce material wealth, it doesn't necessarily diminish overall well-being. Prosperity, from a spiritual perspective, includes health, relationships, personal growth, and inner peace. By cultivating these non-material forms of wealth, individuals can find fulfillment and stability, even when economic conditions are challenging.

 Inflation is an inevitable part of economic life, and its effects can be deeply unsettling. However, spirituality offers a path to navigate these challenges with grace and resilience. By embracing a spiritual perspective on material wealth, practicing mindfulness, fostering community and compassion, and nurturing faith, individuals can find balance and peace, even in the midst of financial uncertainty. In uncertain times, spirituality can be a source of comfort and strength, reminding us that while inflation may affect our external circumstances, it need not define our inner experience.

This is the part, if you have read this far, you will understand why I wrote this article. I in the past six months have seen several areas connected to maintaining the website and well, putting food on my table and helping maintain a roof over our heads, that I have to make subtle but doable changes to pricing as of this newsletter.  I have always believed there are two sides to every coin. If you give, you receive and if you let people take advantage of you, they will. i have been told on several occasions, I am way under what I ask for my work compared to others. I only want to be able to continue to do my work, but I have not changed my prices for circles in more than 12 years and appointments have been virtually the same prices for at least 30 of the 40 years I have been working as a Psychic an Medium. i have been given nudges to make these changes. Those of you who continue to support my work and consider me as a source for your spiritual growth, I thank you for the opportunity to serve but I do have to consider a balance between these areas. This is spiritual even if some of you think it is not. I know I will lose some people, but I cannot control that. Thank You for staying as long as you have and I hope you find what you are looking for.

In all honestly and transparency, I am not a wealthy man, I actually live at poverty level according to the government qualifications. I pay taxes like you and have medical bills and an assortment of others just as you do. i am not asking for any handouts nor do I expect them. I maintain what I have because of the spiritual choices and practices, I make.  People will say, well why don't you advertise more?  Why don't you do Psychic Fairs and Travel. Why don't you do this or that?  While advice is great, you don't know who I am or how my life and finances are.  Also my spiritual conviction to not be one focused on material gain, do at times find peace in not having very much. I have always since following a spiritual path, focused on the works of Jesus, knowing that it does in some ways, have to be enough. If I take a week off, I don't get paid vacation. I don't have paid sick days and every day is planned around the subtle balance of making sure everything is taken care of.  If I travel someplace else, I have to pay for travel, expenses and food on top of trying to earn enough to make up for the time I have lost locally. If I only make a certain amount,  all the travel is not worth the investment and loss. 

Don't get me wrong, I am not whining or begging for some no existent need. I am simply stating a change to some pricing is need to balance out the cost I have of late incurred through the providers for my email service, website and other cost that help continue being able to communicate and have a way to do my work.

The following is what will change:

All circles will go for Lifetime members from $30 to $35, current non members from $45 to $50 without recording $55 with recording.

All appointments for Lifetime will go up as well. $125 to $130. Non-members $150-$155

Life Coaching $55 and Spiritual Counseling - non Psychic or Mediumship counseling, $60.

Also all Lifetime Members the following is stated in the disclaimer and was not being fulling enforced, but will be from now on.

Use of free appointments will be limited to the first two appointments scheduled on any day. Life sometimes throws us into the deep end, testing our resilience and pushing us to our limits. Recently, I found myself facing a series of challenges that seemed almost insurmountable: a friend needing shoulder surgery, my partner requiring major surgery, the demands of driving, cooking, managing extensive house repairs (including a new roof, painting, and a new driveway), sharing a family room space for a week due to unlivable conditions in our usual rooms, and caring for an older female dog belonging to my friend Bill, who is slowly sinking into dementia. Through these trials, I discovered profound reservoirs of inner strength I never knew I had.

Embracing the Role of Caregiver

The first wave of challenges began with my friend’s shoulder surgery and my partner’s major surgery. The role of caregiver is both demanding and rewarding. It requires patience, compassion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. I found that focusing on their needs helped me temporarily set aside my own anxieties. Each small act of care—whether it was preparing meals, managing medication schedules, or simply offering a comforting presence—reinforced my capacity for empathy and love.

Balancing Multiple Responsibilities

Simultaneously, I had to juggle driving, cooking, and overseeing significant home improvements. Driving became a moment of solitude, a time to gather my thoughts and mentally prepare for the day ahead. Cooking, once a routine task, turned into an opportunity for creativity and nourishment, not just for my loved ones but for myself. Managing the home repairs—new roof, painting, and driveway—required meticulous planning and patience. Each completed task, no matter how small, was a victory that boosted my morale.

Adapting to Temporary Disruptions

Sharing a family room space for a week because we couldn’t sleep in our usual rooms was a test of adaptability. The lack of personal space and the need to adjust to new sleeping arrangements were initially stressful. However, it also brought us closer together, fostering a sense of solidarity and teamwork. We learned to communicate better, respect each other’s boundaries, and find humor in the situation.

 Coping with an Aging Pet

Perhaps the most emotionally challenging aspect was dealing with Bill’s 14 year old dog Willow’s decline into dementia. I was often reminded of our cat Potter and dealing with his illness. Watching a beloved pet struggle with confusion and loss is heart-wrenching. Yet, it also taught and reminded me the value of unconditional love and the importance of cherishing every moment. Caring for her involves a mix of sadness and gratitude, recognizing the joy she has brought into our lives and ensuring her remaining time is as comfortable as possible.

Discovering Inner Strength

Throughout these challenges, I discovered that inner strength is not about being unbreakable. It's about bending without breaking, adapting to new circumstances, and finding pockets of peace and joy amidst the chaos. Here are some strategies that helped me:

1. Self-Compassion: Allowing myself to feel overwhelmed at times and acknowledging that it’s okay to struggle.

2. Mindfulness: Practicing mindfulness and staying present helped me manage stress and stay focused on the task at hand.

3. Seeking Support: Leaning on friends, family, and even professional help when needed provided a network of strength and encouragement.

4. Finding Joy in Small Things: Celebrating small victories, like a well-cooked meal or a completed home project, brought moments of happiness and a sense of achievement.

5. Perspective: Keeping a long-term perspective helped me see beyond the immediate struggles and recognize the growth and resilience developing within me.

Life’s challenges are inevitable, but they also offer invaluable lessons in resilience, compassion, and inner strength. Each obstacle faced and overcome is a testament to the human spirit’s capacity for growth and endurance. As I navigated through these tough times, I learned that inner strength is not just about facing difficulties head-on but also about embracing vulnerability, seeking support, and finding light in the darkest moments.

In the end, these experiences have not only made me stronger but have also deepened my appreciation for the simple joys and the profound connections we share with those we love.

Embrace Silence and Solitude; In a world filled with noise, finding moments of silence and solitude can be a precious refuge for the mind and soul. Whether it's through meditation, spending time in nature, or simply unplugging from digital distractions, carving out space for quiet reflection is essential for maintaining mental clarity and emotional balance. Embracing silence allows us to reconnect with ourselves, listen to our inner voice, and cultivate a sense of inner peace amidst external chaos.

Cultivate Mindfulness Mindfulness:   The practice of being fully present in the moment with non-judgmental awareness—offers a powerful cure to the turbulence of our daily life. By paying attention to our thoughts, feelings, and sensations as they arise, we can develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a deeper appreciation for life's simple joys and pleasures. Whether it's enjoying your favorite tea or coffee, going for a mindful walk, or practicing mindful breathing, integrating moments of mindfulness into our daily routine can help anchor us in the present moment and reduce the impact of external stressors.

Set Boundaries: In a hyper-connected world where boundaries are easily blurred, it's important to establish clear boundaries to protect our time, energy, and well-being. This may involve setting limits on screen time, prioritizing self-care activities, or learning to say no to commitments that drain our resources. By honoring our boundaries and respecting our own needs, we empower ourselves to cultivate a healthier balance between work, rest, and play, allowing us to navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and vitality.

As of this posting, we will now be living in our new house for 3 weeks. It has been and still is a task organizing and putting things away, but it is something I/we are glad to do. I had stated previously if you have been reading these articles that I had seen the signs and knew that this would be our house and that I had seen all the signs, 11's, 22's and 4.  We closed on February 1st, of 2024. If you add 2+1+2024, you get an 11. The daughter who lived in the house, her birthday is 11/22. Now you may ask, where does the 4 come in? Well, here is the interesting part and the reason for the topic, when there is darkness, there is also light.  

During the process of finalizing the closing, the neighbor, one of the daughters who lives next door to us now, shares a driveway, that part will be important. She and her lawyer kept coming back at us with sort of demands on what she wanted included. This included the use of our driveway as we share one and her driveway is very steep, where ours, sort of steep, during snow, is the easier to traverse. She wanted use of the driveway, for us to make sure she always had a pathway, that this would basically beas long as the properties are joined and that it was binding not only by us, but any future buyers. We agreed and I will tell you why in a moment, but I know a few of you are saying, why did we do this? Well, it is just a driveway, yes on our property, but it is a driveway and we lived in Maryland sharing a driveway with the neighbor and purchased that house knowing it was. We never had an issue. I knew inside that there are two ways to think about this: Be negative about it or be positive and know everything would work out. 

Two days after we started moving in, the neighbor, the one making the demands came over to introduce herself. I greeted her, not confrontationally but with true feelings of kindness and peace. We spoke for a bit, and she went on to apologize for the terms she had set and that she was worried we would not allow her to do as she asked. I said to her the following: " You know, you didn't have to do all that. I understand that this is a tough time for you. That selling your parent's home and from what we have heard, all the negativity and fighting that has been happening between you and your siblings, you did not have to bring that to people you do not even know. We are good people. We will be the best neighbors you will have and possibly even friends. You could have asked and we would have said sure, but now there is this agreement that devalues both of your properties." She said, "I know, I am just sorry about the whole thing and you are glad to use my water for your pool and if there is anything you need, please ask. I mean it." We then shook hands, and she went back home, and we continued to unpack. When we were at the house the night before we officially stayed and moved in, she came over with a genuinely nice welcome home gift and we talked a bit more and then she left. 

You see, my first reaction to all this was negative, I must admit. I am only human after all and really did not want to be friendly with someone who just brought her family drama to our door. But after thinking about it and listening to my inner self, I knew that I did not want to start a relationship with someone like that, when I, we can be better. All the signs were there and since moving into this area of Hawthorne, NJ, I feel like I truly manifested the place, and that spirit has been really working to get us here. We had the mail carrier, Joe, leave us a note welcoming us to Hawthorne and telling us that sometimes FedEx, UPS and the like may not deliver to us because they are afraid of the driveway and that they may leave our packages at the Post Office. He said he would deliver them or let us know they were there to pick them up, just let him know. He even stopped by when we had the first big snow to check on us and tell us that if we need anything to let him know. With other interactions we have had, it truly feels like we moved to, as I like to call it, Mayberry, from a show called The Andy Griffith Show. People are just nice here. My new Doctor is just the kindest man. The food is good here and truly we have a beautiful area around us. I am truly the happiest I have felt in a long time, even with the bitter events happening around us, I almost feel like we are shielded here from them. 

You see, it really is all in how you see and think about things. Spirituality is about responsibility for yourself and your actions and if you simply follow the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."  You receive that very same energy in turn.  I knew for the longest time that Maryland was not going to be our forever home. We raised our son in the DC Metro Area. Shannon and I met there. We lost some good people in our lives there. We laughed there, we cried there, and we watched our neighborhood grow. We lived through some dark times and light times there, but it was not going to be the place we would move into our golden years. We are surrounded by friends, good people, and some yet to meet. We live in a beautiful place after all New Jersey or as some say, "You're from Jersey now!"  is the garden state. I suddenly as I am writing this, hear the words In the Garden. 

I come to the garden alone, 
While the dew is still on the roses; 
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear, 
The Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me, 
And He tells me I am His own, 
And the joy we share as we tarry there,

We are truly blessed, so in the face of darkness that is happening in the world, look for the light for it is there. Do not embrace the primal fight or flight reaction to things in life, but stand in the light, be the light. If you give with the good that is inside you, it can truly place you in your own little bit of Mayberry.

The experience of living in the transitional space between a house being sold, waiting for the final letter from the court, and enduring the realtor's proposed changes with Shannon, offers a valuable lesson for anyone facing a period of uncertainty and change.

In our case, living in a friend's house and adapting to a new, more minimalist lifestyle while our possessions were in storage allowed us to embrace the present moment and let go of unnecessary attachments.
